frequently asked questions
How do I know it will work?
Almost everyone who commits to the course improves noticeably and often their improvement is dramatic. We get the best results for people when they attend all sessions and prepare well between sessions. Seven weeks won't turn you into a professional speaker but it will help you take those important first steps. A key to the success of the course is being part of a small group with others who feel the same way and offer each other support. Read what previous course participants have said.
How big is the group?
The maximum number of participants is 10 for a seven week course. We reduce the length of the course from seven weeks to six, if there are fewer than 9 participants.
Will I have to do speeches?
No one will force you to do anything you don’t want to do, but the idea is to get you comfortable with presenting to the group. We will start within your comfort zone and then gradually expand this.
I have social anxiety – is this suitable for me?
This course is designed for people with a specific fear of public speaking. If you suffer anxiety when you meet new people, then you should consider some form of counselling first. People with mild social anxiety have completed the course and and done very well and so the course may be suitable for you, but I would encourage you to seek the advice of a qualified professional first. Please feel free to contact us with any questions about this.
I am just a little nervous – is this suitable for me?
Remember that almost everyone fears public speaking to some degree. Other public speaking courses or clubs are ideal for people who are a bit nervous and need to gain confidence. Toastmasters is a particularly cost- effective option to consider. Fear-less public speaking is designed specifically for people who are more fearful than the average person. If you are unsure, please contact me and I can discuss your needs.
Does the course involve impromptu speaking?
Our courses have very little in the way of impromptu speaking on random topics. While there is value in practicing impromptu speaking, our view is that this is something you can try later when you gain more confidence. Our courses will include exercises where you have limited preparation time, but they will be more like the type of situation you may encounter in the workplace or at a meeting. Sometimes we introduce impromptu speaking towards the end of the course if participants are interested in trying it - but you are not obliged to participate so please don't let this stop you from enrolling.
WHAT DOES IT COST?
Our seven-week course is $650 plus GST. You can reserve your place with a $100 non-refundable deposit. Full fees need to be paid one week in advance of the course commencing.
We can arrange payment plans on a case by case basis. Please enquire. This option is available for early enrolments only as most of the payment needs to be made before the course starts.

Do You offer private coaching?
Most of our private coaching is for people who have completed a Fear-less course, however if you have a specific need such as an upcoming presentation that you need help with, please get in touch.
how is my privacy protected during the course?
We take your privacy seriously. Many people on the course don't want others to know about their fear of public speaking. We never share the names of clients other than to other course participants and we blind copy emails on request. Occasionally something of a confidential nature comes up within a course and participants are asked to follow a 'what happens in the room stays in the room' policy.
